Oatmeal with Apricots

Natural oats are not processed and therefore need to be cooked for a longer time.
Cook for less time if using quick-cooking rolled oats.
For 2 servings:
Use half of all ingredients; microwave in an 8-cup [2-L] bowl.
Microwave for 8 to 10 minutes on 'MAXIMUM', stirring every 2 to 3 minutes.

  • 1 7/8 cups [470 mL] natural oats
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 3/4 cups [940 mL] water
  • 3 ounces [85 g] dried apricots
  • Roasted wheat germs
  • Skimmed milk
  • Into a 12-cup [3-L] bowl, stir together oats, salt and water.
  • Mix in dried apricot pieces.
  • Microwave for 15 to 17 minutes at 'MAXIMUM', stirring often.
  • Set aside for 2 minutes; pour into individual bowls.
  • Sprinkle with roasted wheat germs.
  • Serve, along with milk.
