Easy Pea Soup

IngredientsPreparation
  • 2 cups [500 mL] yellow split peas
  • 12 cups [3 L] water
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] fine herbs
  • Pinch of savory
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Dried vegetable pieces [optional]
  • Mix together all ingredients into a large casserole.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Simmer over low heat for 3 hours, stirring from time to time.
