Bread Soup

  • 2 stale or toasted slices of bread
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon [15 g] butter
  • 2 cups [500 mL] boiling water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Finely dice bread slices.
  • Brown chopped onion into melted butter, then mix in bread dices; salt and pepper.
  • Pour in boiling water; simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve immediately.
