Buckwheat Flat Cakes

IngredientsPreparation
  • 2 cups [500 mL] buckwheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 2 cups [500 mL] lukewarm milk
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] lukewarm water
  • 1 egg [optional]
  • 3 tablespoons [45 g] melted butter
  • Mix together buckwheat flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Slowly add, stirring, milk, water and egg, if desired.
  • Pour in melted butter.
  • Mix well.
  • Cook pancakes into a very hot, cast-iron frypan.
