- 2 cups [500 mL] buckwheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 2 cups [500 mL] lukewarm milk
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] lukewarm water
- 1 egg [optional]
- 3 tablespoons [45 g] melted butter
- Mix together buckwheat flour, baking soda and salt.
- Slowly add, stirring, milk, water and egg, if desired.
- Pour in melted butter.
- Mix well.
- Cook pancakes into a very hot, cast-iron frypan.
